Project

Underwater window for private pool on Corfu

commissioned 2024

On the island of Corfu, our installation team recently had the opportunity to undertake a beautiful yet particularly challenging project. This involved the installation of an acrylic window measuring 10 meters in length and 1.3 meters in height. The four-sided window was prefabricated within our workshop in Oudkarspel, housed within a stainless steel frame, and underwent rigorous waterproofing testing. Subsequently, it was transported to Greece, destined for a picturesque coastal location on Corfu.

The primary challenge lay in transporting this large window from the public road to its final destination. The ultimate site is accessible only via a narrow and winding path with a considerable elevation change spanning several hundred meters. To address this logistical hurdle, a collaborative plan was devised with the client, which was successfully executed on-site. Upon arrival at the residence, the window was lifted into the swimming pool using a large crane and securely fitted into the window frame. This enables the progression of the pool’s construction, a process which will require additional time. However, upon the completion of the entire project, we eagerly anticipate showcasing the final outcome.
